Sustainability

The Foil & Specialty Effects Association recently commissioned a study through the Georgia Institute of Technology to assess the recyclability of foil-decorated papers. The study showed that most of aluminum in the paper samples can be separated from the reclaimed fibers, and the resulted fibers have similar properties as those in the reference recycled fibers. Consequently, the paper samples are repulpable using the common approach in recycling industries. For more information, contact FSEA Executive Director Jeff Peterson at jeff@fsea.com or (785) 271-5816.
